Meet Ernest – A Trusted Real Estate Professional
Ernest was born in Big Lake, Texas in 1966. When his father received a promotion with Phillips Petroleum, the family—including his mother and two older sisters—relocated to Stavanger, Norway. Upon returning to the United States, the family settled in Odessa, Texas. This early experience of international relocation left a lasting impression on Ernest, giving him a deep appreciation for the impact that moving and cultural transitions can have on individuals and families.
After graduating high school, Ernest pursued studies in business and real estate while working as an apartment leasing agent—an entry point that launched his long and successful career in property management.
A Career Built on Results and Relationships
Ernest’s commitment and performance in property management led to a series of promotions across the Western United States. His professional journey took him through Palm Desert, Los Angeles (Hollywood and Culver City), Las Vegas, and ultimately Portland, Oregon.
From 1995 to 2000, Ernest oversaw the operations of approximately 1,500 apartment units and commercial properties throughout the Portland metro area and Vancouver, WA. He significantly improved the performance and physical condition of numerous communities and played an integral role in the acquisition and sale of several multifamily properties along the West Coast.
In 2000, Ernest transitioned his extensive experience in project management, budgeting, sales, financing, and physical site assessment into a full-time career as a licensed Realtor. His in-depth knowledge of Portland-area demographics, taxation, and employment trends has allowed him to deliver a consistently high standard of service to his clients.

A Life Beyond Real Estate
Ernest lives in Portland with his husband, Scott, and their two cats, Chapman and Lovejoy. The couple has traveled across all continents—except Australia—sharing adventures and culinary discoveries along the way. Ernest is an avid weightlifter, marathoner, and endurance athlete, and enjoys reading and cooking gourmet meals for friends. Their home is known for hosting great food, local wine, and warm company.
